Welcome

As we know each year each state has a annual cache of the year awards. After discussion on Geocaching Australia Forum it was thought that NSW should be made into different groups having each group have one winner, and the state having 5 winners overall. This gives all caches a chance at the awards weather they are in the city or not - plus give cachers in the country a chance to join in with the awards and go to the finally award party.

Nominations

From now until the end of June nominations are open for Northern. The area covers from the Tweed Heads boarder down to Port Macquarie and out as far west as Walgett and Coonamble.

All you require to do is send in the name of your favorite cache and your cacher name, however there are certain rules it must pass before being accepted into the running of the awards:

  • Cache must be a regular or multi ending in a regular, no micros allowed.
  • You can not nominate your own cache
  • Has never won a state award before
  • You must have visited the cache

Join In

It is free to nominate your favorite cache and then you get to enjoy in the process of finding out the winner for the Northern NSW Cache of The Year 2007. Nominations are open until the end of June, each cache will then have descriptions and links placed about them for people to vote for. Voting will go until end of August. The top 5 caches with the most amount of votes will be scouted out, photos taken at caches and massive descriptions of the cache and cache site. These 5 will then be placed for voting until the end of October. In November I will hold the awards event (Location to be planned later)  somewhere close to the middle of the region for a fun day of BBQs, mini hunts, fun games and finally the winner and runner up annoucned.

Prizes for the winner and runner up will include path tags to be placed in their cache for finders to take noting it won the award in 2007, and at the moment of planning geocoins for the winners to keep.

So why not join in the fun today!
